Supporting Greater Wilmington's Children with Cancer
We are celebrating 10 years of the Cardinal Strut with a PARTY and DOUGHNUTS!! Join us for the 10th Annual Cardinal Strut Doughnut 5K Run and Walk being held on February 16th at Holly Tree Elementary School field to benefit Greater Wilmington area families dealing with a Pediatric Cancer Diagnosis. Run, walk, skip or strut your way across our 5K course through the Woodberry Forest neighborhood while enjoying Krispy Kreme doughnut holes at our water stops. KK Doughnuts, hot chocolate and coffee await the 5K finishers at the Strut for Kids After Party.
Doughnut eating is optional! Having a great day is mandatory!
Custom Race Shirts guaranteed for everyone who registers by Feb. 1, 2019 (Men’s, Women’s and Youth Size shirts available.) Please note the Women’s shirts do run small so we suggest that you order one size larger than you would wear in a traditional t-shirt.

Limited Parking is available at Holly Tree Elementary. Additional Parking at Long Leaf Mall with Shuttle service available to Holly Tree starting at 7am.
Do I have to run? Can I walk? We welcome everyone at the Cardinal Strut! Runners, joggers, walkers, skippers, strutters, sidesteppers, etc!
Do I have to eat doughnuts? Doughnut eating is optional! Having fun is mandatory!
Category 1 – Competitive 5K Runners…I’ll eat my doughnuts when I am finished running – I’m here to run fast and shoot for a PR.
Category 2 – Recreational Runner/ Recreational Doughnut Eater – I’m planning to enjoy my doughnuts as I run the 5K.
Category 3- Competitive Doughnut Eater – I’m just here for the doughnuts and planning to walk from one doughnut station to the next!
Strut for Kid’s mission only succeeds through strong support and partnerships with caring businesses, whose goal is also to give back to the community where it operates. Your association with Strut for Kids allows you to join hands in supporting local children battling cancer.
